December 28 ROR NYE 2005Get ready y'all!! Raised on Rhythm is very excited to be playing Bayside's on New Year's Eve! Music from 9:30 - till they shut us down. No cover charge, champaigne toast at midnight. We're expecting a big crowd so come out early, arrange your transportation ahead of time, and cheers to the New Year!!!!
~R October 19 UPDATEWell well well. We finally decided to write a blog entry. I know, but what can I say... prior to last weekend there wasn't much to report. So last Thursday we played a last minute gig at the Loft in Dinkertown. It was a blast and thanks again to all who came out to witness such a special night, especially Marcus Frys and Erich Hastreiter for video taping and taking pictures (which are posted to the right.) A couple highlights include when we invited Lynch's cousin to play a few tunes with us and he knocked everyone's socks off. Matt noted after "Now ya Know" that he had never even heard us play before, which made it even more impressive. The night definitely hit it's peak level of intensity during the encore, Yeltsin's Charge, the whole band (minus Rob) jumped off the stage to join the crowd in dance, Marcus did his famed fonzy dance and sister Angie (touch her I will kill you) grabbed the mic and put a little vocal on the track. It was a blast! Anyways, so for now the band finds itself on hiatus as Chris Lynch is going on an extended tour of the Western States and being one with nature. Other big news is that Rob just got engaged over the weekend, so much congrats to him and Allison!! Let the good times roll on y'all. September 03 Vanishing into thin airHappy Labor Day weekend to everyone. We just wanted to make sure the everyone knew that the gig tomorrow at the Vanishing Point is not happening. It was a benefit concert for MS which got postponed. More details will follow. Speaking of benefits, if anyone looking for bands to perform for a Hurricane relief benefit, please leave a comment or e-mail raisedonrhtyhm@hotmail.com. God bless those folks. Peace- August 17 ~The Rhythm Rolls On~Greetings fellow bloggers and music lovers alike. This update is about a week overdue. First off, we'd like to thank everyone who came out to Yggdrasil as well as the organizer, Mark Goehring & Vega Productions, for involving us with such a talented cast of musicians that played through the course of the day and night. We had a blast performing on such a fantastic stage and all in the name of charity and good will. We will post pictures very soon, and there will also be a compilation CD that will be for sale in the near future, of which the proceeds will also go Art and Music education in MN schools. For updates please go to: www.yggdrasilfestival.com.
With the welcoming of Harmony park comes a departure in the band. Guitarist Dave Staton has moved on from ROR to concentrate his time, love and passion on his family. Dave is a very talented musician and an awesome guy, and wish him and his family the best in the years to come. With Davey's departure comes a new era for the band. Last week we had our Uptown debut as a four piece and it went really well. Tonight we take the coveted Cabooze stage and this show will be recorded and remastered for distribution of sorts. We hope to see you all out there hooting and hollering and getting your voice ever engrained in our archives. Go to www.cabooze.com for directions and as always, check jambase for all up to date show info.

-Raised On Rhythm- August 09 Thanks for JerryRIP Mr. Garcia: 10 Years ago today and the world still remembers.
From the corner of my eye I saw the sun explode
I didn't look directly 'cause it would have burned my soul When the smoke and thunder cleared enough to look around I heard a sweet guitar lick, an old familiar sound I heard a laugh I recognised come rolling from the earth Saw it rise into the skies like lightning giving birth It sounded like Garcia but I couldn't see the face Just the beard and the glass and a smile on empty space Excerpt from "Down The Road"Lyrics: Robert Hunter July 29 Decoys TomorrowHappy Friday y'all! Last night at Baysides was a great time. Thanks to all that made it out! Tomorrow night we're playing Decoy's.
